I.R.I.S. Electronic GmbH was established in summer 1994 in Palatinate, between Ludwigshafen and Bad Dürkheim. The aim was to develop and manufacture a modern and reliable light barrier. Great importance was attached on false alarm-free and failure-free function.
The system was conceived for interior and exterior usage. To avoid environmental influences, e.g. electromagnetic disturbance, measures as well in the hardware as well in the software were taken.
Control of the system was distributed to single beam-devices.
Due to this autonomous function, a complete breakdown is prevented: Every transmitter can take the control for itself and for the remaining transmitters. “Master” is always transmitter channel “0”, and this one controls the failure-free function of all the other connected transmitters. If, in case of failure, the master can not take out its function, another uninterrupted transmitter pitches in. Like this, a controlled operation is kept up. Transmitters and receivers are equipped with a rotary switch with multifunction. This rotary switch is used on the one hand for the adjustment of the channel number, on the other hand as dispatcher between operation-mode and adjustment-mode. The direction of rotation affects the required function. Synchronisation between transmitters and receivers is carried out through the IR-beam, and is insensitive against electromagnetic disturbances. Alarm-output of the receivers is realized with a non-wearing semi-conductor relay, and is all-purpose adaptive. Our light barriers have proven themselves in practice, and are esteemed as well by large companies as by installers for their reliability, simple mounting and accurate adjustment. |
